Champagne

Champagne is the most scrutinised wine region on earth, and rightly so. The combination of a northerly climate, chalk subsoils, and centuries of accumulated knowledge produces sparkling wines of unmatched complexity and longevity. No other region has codified its craft so precisely, nor defended its name so fiercely.

The region divides broadly into three: the Montagne de Reims, where Pinot Noir dominates and the wines carry weight and structure; the Vallée de la Marne, home to Pinot Meunier and wines of early charm; and the Côte des Blancs, the heartland of Chardonnay, producing wines of extraordinary finesse and mineral precision.
