The 2022 Vieux Château Mazarat has a slightly more exotic bouquet with blackberry, cedar and wild mint aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins. The acidity is well judged here, again quite peppery although it needs more precision on the bold finish. Afford this two or three years in your cellar. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.
