Valentini's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is made entirely from Montepulciano and in small quantity: production is roughly a quarter of the estate's Trebbiano, and none was bottled in 2020, 2021 or 2023. The family releases only what it judges true to its traditional style, which is also why no Valentini Montepulciano has been bottled since 2015.
The estate lies at Loreto Aprutino in Abruzzo, where Francesco Paolo Valentini now works alongside his son Gabriele. The vineyards are farmed naturally, and only a small fraction of each harvest is bottled under the family label. Antonio Galloni of Vinous places the estate among Italy's top dozen, alongside Gaja, Giacosa and Quintarelli.
