The 2016 Reserva Murua is a blend of 92% Tempranillo with 8% Graciano from Elciego and Laguardia. Aged for about 20 months, primarily in American barrels, it opens with caramel, balsamic hints, licorice and undergrowth, followed by notes of broth, spice and subtle wood aromas. Light on its feet, with gentle juiciness and polished, well-integrated oak, this delivers a classic Rioja character with a modern sensibility.
