What the critics say

The 1929 Siran is a vintage that I have not encountered previously. It actually puts the 1928 in its place - a glorious bouquet that is unequivocally the finest that I have encountered from this Margaux estate in this period with red berry fruit, kirsch, toffee and light tobacco scents, rose petals and Clementine emerging with time. Wonderful delineation. Yet after that initial burst, it rapidly runs out of a bit of puff. The palate has some VA on the entry, though there is nothing to get too worried about. Very well-defined, sensual and slightly viscous in texture, which is atypical for this vintage. Persistent on the sweet finish, this wonderful Siran is firing on all cylinders. Magnificent! Tasted at the Siran Twenties vertical at the château.
