What the critics say
93 VMVinous, Neal Martin, 01-05-2020
The 1945 Rauzan-Ségla is deep in hue. It has an opulent bouquet that gains complexity with aeration, displaying copious ripe red fruit, kirsch and hints of camphor that give the aromatics a medicinal bent. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, not amazingly complex, but it seduces with a softish, cashmere finish and subtle clove and cedar tones. Lovely but not otherworldly. Tasted at Koala's 1945 dinner.
