What the critics say
92 VMVinous, Neal Martin, 17-06-2025
The 1955 Poujeaux is another to add to this Moulis estate's roster of wonderful wines from yesteryear. Admittedly, this is missing a bit of depth and concentration on the nose, especially when juxtaposed with the wonderful 1955 Chasse-Spleen. The palate compensates with svelte tannins, a core of harmonious red berry fruit, spicebox and pine. It seems to gain freshness with aeration, upping its tensile finish, whilst the aromatics appear to gather more fruit as if hiding it away. Very fine, though mercurial. Tasted at the Académie du Vin dinner in Bordeaux.
