What the critics say
92 VMVinous, Neal Martin, 27-09-2022
The 1952 Montrose is one of the picks from this growing season. Mature in color with tawny rim. The bouquet was less austere than its peers in this vintage with satisfying red berry fruit, attractive scents of antique furniture and decaying brown autumn leaves. The palate is medium-bodied yet has convincing density and grip for a six-decade old wine, almost citric on the finish. Well worth seeking out. Tasted at "Les Branleurs" tasting in England.
