What the critics say
88 VMVinous, Neal Martin, 01-09-2023
I have only one encounter with the 1934 Château Margaux, dating from September 2007. It has a Burgundian nose with remnants of fruit, soon overcome by tertiary and fungal scents. The palate is more complex with stewed black tea and freshly rolled tobacco, though it runs out of ideas towards the finish. It's just a bit staid for such a normally elegant First Growth.
