What the critics say

82 VMVinous, Neal Martin, 01-08-2019

The 1933 Lafaurie-Peyraguey has an odd, very one-dimensional but not unattractive bouquet of sherbet, honey and light marmalade scents. There seems to be sweetness but no botrytis. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, yet the lack of acidity renders this cloying, and it does not urge you back for another sip. Tasted at the Lafaurie-Peyraguey retrospective at the château.
