What the critics say

86-89 VMVinous, Stephen Tanzer, 01-05-2000

Bright medium ruby. Lively aromas of black raspberry, bitter chocolate and mint. Good texture and restrained sweetness; dark berry flavors are quite youthfully unevolved. Solidly structured wine, finishing with firm but fine tannins and very good length.

85-86 WAWine Advocate, Robert Parker, 21-04-2000

Quite an attractive nose: blackberry and plum. The palate is quite concentrated with fine acidity. Medium-bodied and well-knit though a little tart on the finish. The only fault is that is lacks the depth on the mid-palate. Not a bad wine by any means. Drinking now and over 3-5 years. Tasted November 2003. (No tasting note was provided in Issue 128. We have instead included the text of the tasting note from the 2000 Neal Martin’s Wine Journal)
