Bright ruby-red. Complex aromas of raw currant, minerals, cured tobacco and smoky oak. Dense and minerally but taut and dry. Has good extract. Persistent and rather aromatic on the slightly dry-edged finish, with a fragrant note of woodsmoke.

This attractive dark ruby-colored, well-balanced, medium-bodied 1999 exhibits notes of underbrush, cassis liqueur, and dried herbs. The wine possesses finesse, harmony, and copious fruit. It can be consumed now and over the next 13-14 years.
