What the critics say

90 VMVinous, Ian d'Agata, 01-01-2012

(34.8 g/l dry extract; 12.9% alcohol): Garnet-tinged red. Floral and red cherry aromas are complicated by strong spicy and tobacco notes. Bright and focused, with ripe red cherry and tobacco flavors similar to the aromas; aromatic orange peel and Oriental spice nuances provided added lift. Finishes long and clean, with persistent hints of red berries and incense. I loved this wine's impeccable balance and strongly aromatic personality.

87 WAWine Advocate, Robert Parker, 28-02-1993

The 1990 represents a strong effort for this property. It is surprisingly dark in color, with medium body, fine structure, plenty of depth and richness, and an interesting bouquet of olives, smoky oak, and over-ripe black fruits. This wine reminds me somewhat of a lighter version of the 1979. Anticipated maturity: 1996-2008.
