A hot, dry summer after a mild spring; picking began in late August, the earliest on record in several villages. Deep, ripe and unusually approachable young, with the tannin buried. The crop was small and the prices did not reflect that. Six years on they have shut down, which was always likely. The village wines are drinking; the premiers crus want until 2030 and the best of them longer.
