Cookie Policy
Effective 22 September 2026.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy too.
2. What we use
Strictly necessary, always on because the website cannot work without them:
- Shopify's cookies that keep your basket, let you check out securely and remember your cookie choices
- Sign-in cookies on the members' portal
- A note in your browser's local storage (
vfw-age-ok) that records you have confirmed you are 18 or over, so we do not ask on every page. The law requires us to ask.
Analytics and marketing, only if you accept them:
- Shopify's analytics and marketing cookies, which tell us how the shop is used
- On the members' portal, PostHog (EU), which tells us which pages and features members use. Any recording of a visit hides every word and figure on screen.
We do not use advertising cookies from other companies.
3. Your choices
When you first visit, you can accept or decline the non-essential cookies. Declining does not stop the website working. You can change your mind at any time through "Cookie preferences" at the foot of every page, or clear cookies in your browser's settings.

5. Booking a consultation
Our Membership page carries a booking calendar provided by HubSpot, whose data is held in the European Union. Opening that page loads HubSpot's script, which sets cookies so that the calendar works and so that a booking can be matched to your enquiry. If you would rather not use it, email andrew@vincowines.com and we will arrange a time by email instead.
