Wine is held in your name at London City Bond, Burton Gateway: temperature and humidity controlled, under 24-hour security, with insurance available. Every case is logged on arrival, so it can be found and released without a search.

What we offer

Questions

What does it mean to store wine in bond?

Wine held in bond sits in an HMRC-approved warehouse with the duty and VAT unpaid. Nothing is owed until the wine leaves bond, so wine can be bought, held and sold without those charges ever falling due. Wine released from bond for drinking has duty and VAT paid at that point.

When does duty become payable?

When the wine leaves bond, not when you buy it. If wine is delivered to your home it is released from bond first, and duty and VAT are charged then. Wine that stays in bond, or is sold on in bond, never triggers them.

Where is the wine actually kept?

London City Bond at Burton Gateway, Unit 2 Gateway Road, Burton on Trent DE13 8FL. It is where a great deal of Britain's fine wine sits.

Yours. Wine stored with Vinco is recorded against you, and a record of what is held is available to you at any time.

Can I get my wine out, or have it delivered?

Yes, at any time. Wine can be collected, delivered to you, or transferred in bond to another account. Wine leaving bond for delivery has duty and VAT applied at that point.

Can I taste wine I have in storage?

Yes. Private tastings of your own stored wine can be arranged at the facility, subject to availability.
